Ouagadougou!!! (It's fun to say...)

Here's what today's flight from Grand Canary Islands to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) looked like on SPOT:

For a while, we were convinced that John, our pilot, had mistakenly put his destination in as Bamako, but then, he took a big left turn toward Burkina Faso and continued on.  We'll get the inside scoop from John later, but, it is likely that the air traffic folks gave him their preferred routing to keep better tabs on him.

Passing over Mauritania is quite desolate, but it has quite a cool oval feature called "Guelb Er Richat".  Here's a photo:

Arrival at Ouagadougou!!!

The pronunciation of this town is like this... "WAH-GAH-DO-GOO".  In my opinion, it's one of the funnest city names to say!

Only one more leg of the journey- Ouaga to Libreville.  We were thankful, today, to get the authorization needed for the landing.
