It's a bird! A Plane! A... Mini-Parachute?!?

Expediting Health and Hope is one of our tag lines for what we do with the tool of aviation, here in remote parts of central Africa.  This work is possible, at times, thanks to logging and mining companies who have constructed airstrips that are dotted around the region as well as about a dozen airstrips maintained by the state.

However, what do we do when there are needs, but no where to land our aircraft?  Answer- mini parachutes!

Small parachutes attached to pouches are already being used in parts of the world for relief and other expressions of God's love.

We would like to add this type of service to our "arsenal" of services to bless people, and plans are already underway.

Just imagine how a timely delivery of medications could help someone in dire need.  Or if a villager, tourist, or conservationist worker was working on a project in a very remote site and encountered a snake bite.

Additionally, we can use the airplane parachute drops to pass along announcements about upcoming mobile medical clinics sponsored by Bongolo Hospital to remote areas as well.

After a review of local aviation regulations, we have found nothing to prohibit such a service.  We are now communicating with the civil aviation offices regarding our intentions.  Please pray for good interaction, as we wish to respectfully work with them in each step of our efforts.

Thanks to the children of Bethel Church Vacation Bible School summer program (Crown Point, IN), we have many parachutes ready to go, all wonderfully decorated with phrases like "God loves you", in the French language!
