Easter Medevac

 

Easter, 6am, at the Lebamba / Bongolo airport.
By God's grace, great weather.

Koulamoutou airport, a 40 minute flight East

With the help of the family and the doctor (seated behind me)
we quickly loaded and made our way to one of the few CT scanners
in the country, in the capital city. Two brothers were in a horrible 
car accident- one with a broken arm in the co-pilot seat, the other with 
a neck injury in the stretcher.

After an hour and thirty minutes, we were Libreville.
It turns out that this family was related to the minister of health
and church leaders have shared that this medevac has touched
many lives and helped them to understand the reach of God's Love!

Loaner Aircraft

 

While we wait on our Cessna 207 being prepped in Kenya, 
we're borrowing a Cessna 206 that our friends in Cameroon
made available to us!

In 2016, this is the very same aircraft that saved our son, Sam's, life!
When we were on assignment in Cameroon, Sam was a senior in high school
and became severely ill with aggressive malaria and was medevac'd to
Mbingo Hospital in "three-tango-mike" just in time.

Three-Tango-Mike has been serving in Central Africa for decades!  
We are so thankful to put it to good use- as you can see, it's a work horse!
It's a six seater or, with seats removed, a rather large cargo-hauler.

Here we are making use of ALL SIX SEATS!
It's small, but strong.  It turns an 8 to 10 hour drive into 
one hour and 40 minutes... with about 20 to 30 traffic stops
and some REALLY bad roads avoided!
